Who Gets Paid When AI Trains on Art? The Global Discussion on Collective Licensing
Even as generative AI has upended traditional licensing mechanisms, collective licensing is being recognized as a viable way to compensate creators. We’ll review how different regions and countries are developing policy around generative AI, and the role collective licensing plays. We’ll also touch on how collective licensing is particularly well suited to compensate visual artists.
This webinar will cover: - What collective licensing is , and why it is so well suited for failed markets such as generative AI
- The measures different countries and regions have taken to address creators’ rights issues with generative AI
- How collective licensing is being considered as a solution to remunerate creators and rights holders
- Why there may not be a single solution for all types of creative works, and how collective licensing works particularly well for visual artists
